Choir Concert and Beach Day

Well, we sure fit a lot in this week, again! We wrapped up Theme 8 in language, took 2 NWEA tests, had beach day, and a choir concert too! I have attached some pictures from the choir concert. I was backstage, so they did not turn out too well, but I did take some before the show too. There are some from Beach day in the classroom and in the cafeteria. The students LOVED having class on the floor on beach towels, and eating lunch the same way. Enjoy your weekend. I will be freezing in hockey rinks again this weekend, but loving it anyways!

January 17,2014

Here is the update for the week along with pictures... First of all, Mrs. M. had a baby girl. She was born over a month early, but is doing fine. She weighed just over 5 pounds and will go home in about 5 days. I am sorry to report, that I don't have any pictures for you. We had another busy, but productive week We learned about verbs, letter writing, phonics and machines in language. In math we had some fun with multiplication and practiced making arrays out of marshmallows. In Science we observed and described different types of liquids. A couple of hazardous weather days kept the students inside for recess, so we took some movement breaks where they can dance and move around. I am sure you will be able to tell which pictures are of the movement! Does anyone know how to write a blog and still have paragraphs? I am new to this, and as a teacher of language arts and paragraphs, I can't stand the run ons! :-) Have a great weekend!! Pictures below... Mrs. Churchill

January 13, 2014

We had another short week, but we packed in all we could to get the most out of it! The students were very cooperative and worked hard to make up for lost time. One of the highlights of the week was a visit from a Bee Keeper (parent of one of our second graders here at Fieldstone). We all learned so much about bees. I think the Queen Bee is the job to have! I am off to Bemidji for my daughter's hockey tournament this weekend. I am glad it is not going to be as cold as it has been lately. Enjoy your weekend, may it be blessed. And, enjoy the pictures from this week.
